Lori Shanahan, end-of-life doula (she/her)

Lori began her journey as a Doula with and early childhood education. Everything changed when she became a caregiver for her grandmother living with dementia, and sitting by her mom’s bedside as she died from pancreatic cancer further deepened her call to deathwork.

The energy required to lead students and engage with parents shifted.

Today, Lori is a Lifespan Doulas, LLC Certified End-of-Life Doula., operating her own practice under Ms. Lori Doula, LLC. She aligns a gentle, quiet presence with people who are dying and offers support to their caregivers. Lori followed her calling to enter that trusting, tender space at the end of life. She also serves as a hospice volunteer, provides mentorship to those entering the deathwork space, and uses her voice in advocating on behalf of those forgotten or silenced in our community.

Ms. Lori has and continues to be an incredible mentor in her partnership with Liminal Showers, LLC. Ms. Lori Doula, LLC and Liminal Showers, LLC have cultivated a beautifully symbiotic relationship. We know that death is rarely “convenient” and deserves compassionate care no matter the circumstance or time of day. We also know that self-care and work-life balance are an essential part of providing quality end-of-life support. Partnerships such as this help insure that our clients receive quality care.
